Bringing the cloud to earth. Apps create a HIGH demand for data which in turn generates a massive demand for electricity. It is hard to correlate exactly how apps and developers have a carbon footprint which use finite natural resources. However, they undoubtedly are creating an ecological impact through electricity demand. The device used to access the app, the illusive servers that deliver the app to the device, as well as the power the servers demand to store the app for 24/7 availability are incidences that all require electricity.

How can developers implement sustainability into their coding and beyond? Learn where sustainable coding is at currently (case studies, what has been found thus far, etc.) Then an open discussion/brainstorm session will be held for attendees to expand ideas, discuss personal experiences, and find solutions.

All sessions at West Slope Startup Week 2020 will be recorded. By joining the session, you agree to be part of the recording.
